KUALA LUMPUR - Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today launched the all-new Golf R, the flagship model that completes the introduction of the all-new Golf family in Malaysia.
As the ultimate performance hatch, the Golf R has set and broken numerous records worldwide. Its appeal, on the road and track, lies in the fact that it is one of the most well-rounded models available in the market, and this explains why more than 250,000 units of the Golf-R have been produced and sold around the world.
The all-new Golf R reigns supreme by outperforming its predecessors to become the most powerful model yet. Boasting 320PS and 400Nm of torque from the latest 2.0TSI turbocharged engine and 7-speed DSG, it is a true performance powerhouse meant for those who seek the best.
Driving performance is taken to the next level with the new all-wheel drive system: 4MOTION with Performance Torque Vectoring. This intelligent and innovative system enables power to be distributed not only between the front and rear, but also selectively between the rear wheels - which significantly increases the agility of the Golf R, particularly when cornering. It is notably the first Volkswagen to be launched with this system.
The Vehicle Dynamics Manager system in the R is closely integrated with other running systems, such as the electronic differential locks (XDS), dynamic chassis control (DCC), and progressive steering, to provide optimum traction and remarkable handling with the utmost level of precision.
The prestige of the R is found in the interior too, with a premium feature being the Harman Kardon 480-watt audio system with 10 speakers. It brings to life rich and vibrant acoustics to provide a mesmerising audio experience.

R-Exterior
Sporty yet subtle, the design of the all-new Golf R belies its powerful performance. Besides the R emblems, other R-specific characteristics adorn the model to make it distinctive - from signature bumpers and air intake to the newly-designed diffuser in high-gloss black that is flanked by a pair of tailpipes on both sides. The 19" Adelaide alloy wheels complete the rugged profile of this hot hatch.
The signature blue of the R is reflected in the blue brake callipers and the eye-catching blue strip that runs across the front of the vehicle, whereas the illuminated light strip is unmistakeably Volkswagen.
Another unique feature is the light projection of the R logo when the driver door is opened and closed.

The interior evokes sporty luxury with the R-specific decorative trim in Carbon Grey. Another standout feature is the premium front sport seats with integrated headrest and R logo in Nappa leather. These are furnished with the active climate feature, while the driver seat can be electrically adjusted and provides lumbar support.
Other innovations come in the form of the multifunctional sports steering wheel, where it now has the blue backlit R button that instantly activates 'Race' mode with one push. What is special as well is the larger shift paddles for more optimum shifting experience.

The advanced 10" Digital Cockpit comes with various customisations, including an exclusively-designed R-View that is only available in this model.
