KUALA LUMPUR - Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today unveiled the new Golf R-Line and Golf GTI – the latest evolutions of the iconic Golf, combining sharper design, smarter tech, and optimised performance.

The new Golf R-Line is currently available for preview only, and the new Golf GTI retails from RM255,990 including the Volkswagen Assurance Package. As a limited-time special, early birds can enjoy an exclusive price of RM249,990 including VAP for the Golf GTI, available for the first 50 units only with registration by 31 December 2025.

For decades, the Golf family has been loved for its compact size, premium fittings, and sheer driving fun. The Golf legacy now continues with the Golf R-Line and Golf GTI – both set to thrill fans and enthusiasts alike in Malaysia.

The Golf R-Line, inspired by Volkswagen’s performance R models, delivers dynamic styling and a sportier drive for those seeking excitement with everyday comfort.

Locally assembled at the Volkswagen plant in Pekan, both variants feature refined underbody panels and aerodynamic enhancements that improve airflow, stability and fuel efficiency.

The Golf family’s sharper lines define a more expressive, modern look from the front – a new front bumper is also an identifying feature.

Visually defining features include the Volkswagen logo on the front bumper, illuminated for the first time on a Volkswagen model in Malaysia, and newly designed LED headlights. A seven-speaker sound system is easily controlled through the intuitive infotainment interface. With two USB-C ports in the front and rear, both drivers and passengers may have their compatible gadgets charged and ready while on the move.

The Golf R-Line offers mild-hybrid efficiency with its 1.5 eTSI (mHEV) turbo engine (150PS, 250Nm) and a shift-by-wire system for its 7-speed DSG transmission, achieving 0–100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, and just 5.2L/100km fuel consumption – contributing to better fuel efficiency and a more planted driving experience.

The Golf R-Line rides on ‘Coventry’ alloy wheels, with 7.5J x 17” with 225/45 R17 tyres.

Performance-wise, the new Golf GTI Delivers 265PS (an additional 20PS from the previous GTI) from its 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol motion engine, paired with Volkswagen’s 7-speed DSG transmission. Agile, powerful, and endlessly fun, it’s made for both highways and Malaysian backroads.

It's Harman Kardon sound system provides an immersive audio experience with nine precisely tuned speakers with a subwoofer powered by a 12- channel digital amplifier, producing 480 watts of total output. The integrated subwoofer ensures deep, precise bass, while the system provides surround sound at every seat, all easily controlled through the intuitive infotainment interface.

With two USB-C ports in the front and rear, both drivers and passengers can have their compatible gadgets charged along the journey.

The Head-Up Display projects key information directly onto the windshield, including speed, navigation instructions, and driver assistance alerts, keeping drivers informed without taking their eyes off the road.

The Golf GTI rides on alloy wheels, 7.5J x 18” ‘Richmond’ with 225/40 R18 tyres.
