VW Beetle: Electronic Stability Control  (ESC)

As standard, the electronic stabilization control (ESC) in the Beetle is part of the equipment, which can prevent the vehicle from breaking out. This is possible, for example, during cornering, unadjusted speed, wetness, smoothness and soiling, or in the case of sudden evasive maneuvers. In the case of centrifugal danger, the system engages within the limits of the braking system and the engine management system and keeps the Beetle well on track. It includes the following safety and comfort functions: anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction slip control (ASR), electronic differential lock (EDS) and engine drag torque control (MSR).
